Workshops we offer
This is a selection of the workshops we currently offer, but we’re always developing new subjects and themes. If there’s something specific you’re interested in, please get in touch - we may be able to create it for you.

Roman Engineering Workshop
Step back in time to explore how the Romans built their famously straight, durable roads and why they were so important. Children investigate the clever design behind Roman roads before learning about another incredible invention — the aqueduct.
In a fun, hands-on challenge, pupils work together to design and build their own mini aqueduct, testing how to move water using only gravity. This workshop blends history, science, and design technology, helping children appreciate the skill and ingenuity of Roman engineers.

Stone Age
Workshop
Travel back to the Stone Age to discover how early humans lived, cooked, and survived. Children explore how fire changed life through time - from warmth and protection to cooking and community.
They’ll have a go at grinding grain, mixing dough, and making simple Stone Age-style bread, cooked over an open fire. A truly hands-on experience that brings ancient history to life.

Seed Dispersal Workshop
In this interactive science session, children explore how plants spread their seeds in different ways - by wind, water, animals, and even explosion!
Through hands-on experiments and outdoor investigation, they’ll test how far seeds can travel and make their own seed models to see which methods work best. A fun, practical way to understand how nature ensures new life grows everywhere.

Sound Experiments Workshop
In this practical science workshop, children investigate how sound travels and why it becomes quieter as it moves further away.
Using simple experiments and outdoor space, they test how distance affects volume, explore how sound waves behave, and discover what materials can block or reflect sound. A fun, hands-on way to bring physics to life in the open air.

Water Erosion Workshop
In this hands-on geography and science session, children explore how water shapes our landscape over time.
They’ll experiment with soil, sand, and flowing water to see how rivers form valleys, create patterns, and carry materials away. By observing erosion in action, pupils gain a deeper understanding of natural processes and the power of water in shaping the world around us.

Pollination
Workshop
In this hands-on science and nature session, children discover the vital role pollinators play in our world.
They’ll learn how bees, butterflies, and other insects help plants grow and produce food, then explore the parts of a flower and how pollination happens through practical activities. Pupils can even try their hand at being pollinators themselves in fun, interactive games that show just how important these tiny creatures are to life on Earth.
